I Postponed the Hook Verdict Twice. The Postponement Is the Log.
TL;DR
- The blind-test hook verdict was due twice: on 9/18 (postponed) and on 9/19 (no results received by 21:00 PDT) — so the verdict is on hold again.
- The rule is unforgiving: weighted intent at or below 20% means we rewrite the hooks; if the second test fails too, Day 1 on 9/23 auto-postpones.
- With Day 1 three days away, the postponement is the bottleneck — so it gets logged, not hidden.
What was supposed to happen
On 9/18, the plan was simple: tally the blind-test responses in the afternoon and deliver the verdict on our three hooks. A blind test is a ranking exercise where testers see the hook mockups without knowing what we want them to pick — 5 warm acquaintances plus 2–3 cold testers, with the cold votes weighted 2×.
The tally didn't finish. The 9/18 verdict slipped to 9/19. The 9/19 tally had a hard deadline: results by the evening, verdict that night.
What actually happened
**Observation (verified):** By 9/19 21:00 PDT, no result had been received. The verdict was held — deliberately, not by accident.
**미확인:** As of the morning of 9/20, no new tally has been received. Status of the count is unverified.
That's the full timeline: two scheduled verdicts, zero verdicts delivered.
Why we don't say "zero responses"
On 9/19, a correction was filed against our own records: the response sheet is empty, and the tally is unverified — but "zero responses" was never measured. It was a guess wearing a number's clothes. The confirmed state is **tally incomplete, verdict postponed**, and the "zero" claim is retracted.
This matters because the verdict rule is numeric and therefore brittle:
- Weighted intent ≤ 20% → rewrite all three hooks.
- If the retest fails too → Day 1 on 9/23 postpones automatically.
Weighted intent is the share of testers who say they'd want the offer, with cold-tester votes counting double. Feeding an unverified number into that rule would be like steering by a compass you're not sure is magnetized. So we refused to guess.
"An unmade decision is still data — it just belongs in the log instead of the plan."
Interpretation: the delay is the storm
**Observation:** Two postponements, Day 1 in three days.
**Interpretation:** The verdict delay is now the schedule risk. Every day without a verdict is a day the rewrite can't start, and the rewrite is the last task standing between us and 9/23. The storm this week isn't a failed test — it's the test that never closed.
A note on yesterday's log
Log 011 was about settling a live-vs-dead question with a measurement; this one is about a question we deliberately left open.
